Thanks to those who were able to join us again last Saturday. Although we were a very small group we managed to clear most of the remaining saplings and continued cut back the hedge.
As before we used all the vegetation we had removed to build a dead hedge along the B1049 boundary. This hedge serves several purposes. It not only uses up our waste material, it also provides a refuge for wildlife, creates a barrier screen and helps to absorb the traffic noise. So a good win all round.
We still have a little more clearance work to do, but we will definitely be planting and mulching the trees this Saturday. For info we have two Hornbeams, two purple plums and two Chinese Red Birch trees so lots of year round interest.
As usual all tools and refreshments (and biscuits! ) will be provided. Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm. Also sturdy shoes and thick gardening gloves are recommended, but I do have some spare gloves if needed.
Hope to see you there!
