Working Party – Saturday 19th November 2016

09:30 – 11:30am – Saturday 19th November 2016

There will be another working party this Saturday at the Railway Keeper’s Hit (just near the Railway Vue)

This will primarily be in prep for Santa’s visit in December but will also help keep the area looking nice.  There will be various tasks including spreading wood chippings, construction of the igloo frame (massive mechanno for adults in the wood!) and general clearing of dead vegetation.

Enviro volunteering is great fun and open to anyone.  No experience is required, and you can join in for as much as little as you like.  The only real recommendation is some sturdy shoes and a sense of humour!

Santa’s Grotto needs your help! Enviro working Party THIS Sat.12th

Now that Christmas is looming we need to start prepare for Santa’s visit to his Grotto…..

So we’ll be meeting up at the Crossing Keepers Hut on Saturday (12th) morning for a couple of hours from 9:30am.

There’ll be an assortment of odd jobs like clearing chipppings, trimming back vegetation etc.

I’d also like to share some festive decoration ideas, so if you not into the green working party perhaps you could join the craft working party.

I’ve also got an update on some new trees for the village……

As usual all tools and refreshments supplied, so just turn up!

Hope to see you.

Enviro Working Party – Saturday 15th October 2016

Many thanks for everyone’s help last Saturday. It took a little while getting passed all the Guided Busway construction vehicles by th Hut, but we did get into the woods and spread chippings on lots of the paths.

We also discovered lots of concrete, which explains why one path always gets muddy, so we simply cleared that section to walker can use it.

Those who were there will know were meeting up again tomorrow in Homefield Park. We’ll be clearing some vegetation on the northeastern boundary near the garages block. There’s also a few few chippings to spread.

Hope to see you there from 9:30-11:30am.

All tools and refreshments provided as usual!

Enviro Working Party THIS Saturday (19th March 2016) 9:30am March 19th

Thanks for everyone’s help a few weeks ago at The Coppice, where we did a great job clearing the paved paths, removing dead plants in the flower bed and used the brushwood to make a hedge alongside the woods.

This Saturday we’ll be meeting up at 9:30am to tend to the hedge in the Allotments on Glebe Way at the end of The Cemetery. It needs a bit of TLC so we’ll be pruning, mulching and weeding it.

If you can lend us a hand we’d be delighted to see you anytime between 9:30-11:30am

As usual all tools and refreshments are provided.

Hope to see you there!
